What others are saying

“Before joining MTS, I felt extremely stuck in my healing journey. I felt I had made as much progress as I could within individual therapy and this group provided an opportunity for growth that I’ve been craving. Through the readings, workbook, and group discussions, this small group of women grew from strangers to a very close and supportive community.

MTS allowed us to experience raw vulnerability in a trusted space and discuss the complexities of abuse and trauma. Each week was filled with encouragement, love, challenges, and healing. The group leader and fellow survivors within the group challenged me to dip deep and cheered me on each week. We cried with each other during the painful moments and celebrated progress as a unit.

I hoped this group would provide a personal step forward in my healing journey, but what surprised me was how much we all were able to give each other as well. In addition to being supported and loved through tough conversations and painful memories, I was also able to offer that to other survivors. The entire program was so fulfilling and had such an impact on me.”

“I know that the abuse from my past was affecting my marriage, my kids, and relationships with people and God. I felt at some point I would deal with it, but I was always too busy to get around to addressing it. Until one day my wife said the survival of our family depends on me getting help and addressing my anger. Mending the Soul was a safe place where I unpacked the abuse of the past. I made connections between the abuse of the past and my thoughts and feelings of today. I began to understand why I was so angry and how the abuse done to me shaped all of my relationships.

If left untreated or unaddressed, the cancer of abuse will destroy your relationships and inhibit your relationship with God. For me Mending the Soul has allowed me to understand my abuse and heal. My relationships with people and God are now in a much better place.”
